Description

About the breed

The Minuet, formerly Napoleon, is a miniature affectionate cat derived from Persians and Munchkins, with a gentle character and toy-like look.

Breed history

The breed idea came from breeder Joseph B. Smith. In the 1990s he crossed Persians and Munchkins, and in 2015 TICA chose the name “Minuet”.

Appearance and features

The Minuet is small, with short or standard legs, a rounded face, soft expression, fluffy or short coat and many colour options. Size: small size. Weight: males: 2.5–3.5 kg, females: 2–3 kg. Coat: short-haired or long-haired. Typical colours: any coat colours and patterns.

Temperament

It is a tender, kind and family-oriented cat. It enjoys interaction, may express emotions with voice and facial expression, and suits singles or large families.

Care and lifestyle

Shorthaired cats need brushing once or twice weekly, longhaired ones more often. Ear, eye and tooth care and weight control are important.

Health

Because Persians and Munchkins are involved, breathing, eyes, teeth, weight and musculoskeletal condition should be watched.
